Secret's 40 minute base defence almost ends in ridiculous comeback

In what was one of the best matches of the day so far, Team Secret somehow someway held off LGD Gaming for more than 40 minutes in the heart of their base.

Secret looked doomed to endure a swift and embarassing defeat

At the end of the first 10 minutes Team Secret were 7-0 down after a roaming Yao 'Maybe' Lu Juggernaut kept reading Secret like a book and securing early kills. Many cameraman in the arena were getting in position in anticipation of a swift defeat for Secret, but a cunning move by Secret actually prolonged the game for an incredibly long time.

At 20 minutes, Johan 'pieliedie' Åström distracted LGD's troops by deliberately making himself an easy target in Secret's mid lane, allowing his team-mates to sneak a Roshan against the flow of play. It was a clever move by Team Secret and was key in allowing them to prolong the game, and prolong the game they did.

From around the 25 minute mark all the way until the end almost 40 minutes later, Team Secret fended off LGD Gaming again and again. We've all had those pub games where all hopes seems lost but we defend our Throne because we think that maybe, just maybe, there is a chance the enemy will drop their guard and lose patience.

LGD had a legion of loyal fans behind the Chinese casters

Team Secret's base defense was the stuff of legend, as Artour 'Arteezy' Babaev's Alchemist and Jacky 'EternaLEnVy' Mao TerrorBlade fended off an opposition who had a copious amount of farm. Zeng Rong 'MMY' Lei's Winter Wyvern clutch plays to keep Agressif and Maybe in the land of the living drew a lot of attention, but Zhang 'xiao8' Ning 's Mirana should not go without mention.

LGD took over an hour to break Secret

LGD finally broke Secret after the Shanghai Major winners ventured out of their base to take Roshan, and a favourable battle for LGD in which Arteezy was seperated from his team-mates, allowed LGD to burn through Secret's buybacks.

It was an extremely tense and adrenaline-packed match, and hats off to Secret for managing to survive for so long. Their exit at TI5 to Virtus Pro was also action-packed, and although Secret now exit the competition they can do so with their heads held higher than if they gone out after the first 20 minutes of this game.
