Team Empire confirmed: Fng and God now captains of rival CIS teams
They missed out on TI6 completely but Team Empire's line-up for the
coming season shows signs of promise, with a brand new captain in the
form of VP's God.
The backbone of former Virtus.Pro has been split in half, with the two long-standing members Sergey 'God' Bragin and Artem 'fng' Barshack officially joining rival CIS teams. Fng will captain Vega Squadron for the coming season, while his former team-mate Sergey 'God' Bragin was announced on Team Empire.gg as part of Team Empire's new outfit, where he will take on the role of captain according to a member of the Team Empire management.
A mid-player taking on the captain's arm-band is relatively uncommon, with former Alliance captain Gustav 's4' Magnusson one of only a handful of exceptions. This means that Fng and God who played alongside each other at Virtus Pro from April 2015 to June 2016, will also now be rival captains which should spice things up in the CIS Region.
Former VP team-mate Ilya 'AlohaDance' Korobkin also joins the new Team Empire but as a carry player, not a support player. Alohadance played for Team Empire as a support player for all of 2015 before joining Virtus Pro in the last reshuffle period in March. While in Virtus Pro Alohadance moved from support to position 1, meaning he does have some experience playing the carry role, but is still best known for his support play.
Team Empire's new roster
1. Ilya 'AlohaDance' Korobkin *new* (Carry)
2. Sergey 'God' Bragin (Captain) *new* (Mid)
3. Andrey 'Ghostik' Kadyk *new* (Offlaner)
4. Rinat 'KingR' Abdullin (Support)
5. Yaroslav 'Miposhka' Naidenov (Support)
