Demon lives to fight another day after TNC knock out VG-R, but plays OG next
One of the most surprising teams of the groupstage TNC Pro Team refused to surrender in their bo1 playoff match against VG-R, overcoming the direct invite to progress to the final 12.
It looked like TNC's place at TI6 was going to be lost without a fight when Vici Gaming Reborn took the lead in the best-of-1. VG-R was one of the China qualifiers for TI6 while TNC was a surprise of the SEA Regionals following the addition of Demon, who was directly promoted to captain and draft for the Filipino team.
Demon had drafted himself a Silencer to deal with VG-R's pesky Weaver and Storm Spirit, with the disable and global Silence an ideal way of dealing with their ultimates. The early game was VG-R's, who had placed bottom of group B compared to TNC who had finished 5th in group A. Fortunately for TNC, Wang 'NoNo' Xin's Axe was far less fearsome than the one we saw from MVP's Sang-Don 'FoREv' Lee earlier in the day. TNC managed to ride the storm caused by Samson E. 'Sam H' Hidalgo managing to die three times on Bat Rider in the first five minutes.

The Filipino team placed their trust in Demon to guide them this TI
Demon's Silencer came online mid game as did Marc Polo Luis 'Raven / polo' Fausto's TerrorBlade, which come late game ran the show. At 31 minutes TNC's big break came when they pulled off an entire team wipe, and Raven's TerrorBlade dealt over 5000 damage by himself, more than the entire VG-R line-up during the same battle. A solid victory for TNC who now progress to the final 12.
They will have watched MVP vs OG carefully considering the loser would play them should they beat VG-R. Due to OG's 2-1 loss it means the Filipino team will have to play the Double Major winners in the next round of the lower-bracket. OG beat them 2-0 in the groupstages last week, and it will be a real test.
